Photoshoot in the Woods with Mark

This is going to be a short blog post. On facebook I was doing "5 days of Mark" where I post a photo of Mark a day for five days from the one shoot we did. The shoot did not having real set concepts or whatever, we just went into the woods by my house and explored. The woods were a mess still from the storm we had and tons of trees were down. We had to find a bunch of alternative routes to get back to were we wanted to go. We ended up with a bunch of different shots. I always found it interesting how different you can make photos look that were taken on the same day, in the same place. So here are the photos from the "5 days of Mark" and some extras. I will probably add some more later as well once I edit them.

Meet the Model: Hannah

I officially met Hannah through work. We both worked together at Panther Club, an after school program for kids. We hit it off right away with our love of weird and dark styled things. I'm always looking for new models to work with, and was so happy when Hannah seemed interested in being part of a photoshoot project I need more girls for. We still have yet to do that specific project, but we've gotten to shoot together a few times. Most of our shoots together are mainly fashion styled, though I plan to start using her in more conceptual work soon. She was one of my first models that wasn't a really close friend, and at that point I was still learning how to direct people. Luckily Hannah is a natural, and made my job a lot easier by rocking every shoot with little instruction. Of course it is very hard to get all the photos ready to show online when there are so many good ones! I like posting all the pictures of a shoot at the same time, so a lot of Hannah's pictures haven't been released online yet, due to not all of them being edited and then me being busy. I should probably switch my methods up a bit. Anyway, Hannah is a really great model and a lovely person in general. I always enjoy shooting with her and I think we have a lot of fun.

As with the other two models I've done posts on, here is a short interview with Hannah!

First give us a short background about yourself. -My name is Hannah, I am eighteen years old, a Leo, and a feminist. I love writing and helping others. My parents are divorced and my brother has autism. And I don't really know what else to say! How did you first get into modeling and what made you want to pursue it? -Honestly, I remember being 13 and people saying how I had such long legs and how I should be a model and the idea kind of stuck with me. Now that I've actually embraced the idea and went through with it, its amazing and a great experience. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? -Well, in 5 years I will be 24 so graduated from college and either (hopefully) have a career as a kindergarten teacher or involved with special education somehow. Or what would be really amazing is if I was involved with or working towards various missions to help other countries or just volunteer work in general. Favorite movie/tv show/band/book? -Oh my gosh okay, my favorite movie is The Princess Bride. My favorite tv show is The Office. My favorite band? So hard to decide between them all, I would have to say Panic! at the Disco is my all time favorite. And my favorite book, it's a tie between The Memory Keeper's Daughter and Invisible Monsters. What do you do in your free time? -When I do get free time I like to read and write as well as do volunteer work. Who/what is your biggest inspiration? -It's going to sound corny but my mom is such a big inspiration. She is such a strong, independent woman who has dealt with anything and everything you can imagine. And honestly, I wouldn't be who I am today if it weren't for her and I can't imagine life without her. How would you say our first photoshoot together went? (if you remember) -Our first photoshoot was a gothic inspired, cemetery set shoot and I was extremely nervous and I had no idea what to do! I just kept running in my head what I've seen models in magazines and on TV do and tried to reenact it. But overall I think it went really well and I had such a fun time. To go with this post, here are a few different shots from some outside shoots me and Hannah have done together =]
